LM25011: SW to SGND Abs Max?

Part Number: LM25011

In the datasheet for the LM25011, under Absolute Maximum Ratings, there’s an indication on SW to SGND that the values are for “steady state” but there’s no accompanying note to explain this. Can you elaborate on abs max for transient behavior? Or for ringing on this node? What would the limit for these be?

  • The numbers in the Abs max table refer to steady, or DC values.  That voltage can be placed on those pins

indefinitely without causing damage.  Regarding the -1.5V spec, that should be adequate to take care of both DC and transient.

Many of our devices will have a transient abs max spec, as well as DC; unfortunately this device does not.  I would have to say

that to be safe, you must not exceed the Abs max, even with a short transient.
