TPS65950/30/20 Pop Noise Issue?

from Customer:

1. Capless Headset Amp for Pop Noise reduction?
Currently capless Headset amp is integrated on some of PMIC to eliminate pop-up noise. This pop-up noise is very critical issue so some of customer have been using the external capless Headset amp even though PMIC can support pop/click suppression function for standard headset amp of DC-blocking type on chip inside. TPA6132/6136 (TI direct-pass HF Amp) is very strong performance for pop issue. So I hope you can get a chance to implement this IP on PMIC in the future.

From TI support:

1/ Capless Headset.
Phoenix audio our next PMIC has a cap less headset (OMAP4 audio companion chip). Unfortunately if you need the feature you need to use an external amplifier.
To be back to the pop noise have you tried the build in pop noise reduction system we have in the TPS659xx device. It reduces a lot the noise by shorting the headset during the turn on / off phases. If you want to perform the measurement you have to check that the external transistors have been populated because the feature is not implemented on every EVM, for example the Mistral board has not the transistors.
