LM5060: TIMER connected to output of comparator

Part Number: LM5060

Hi,

my customer find that adjusting capacitor on the TIMER pin could only reduce the fault delay time to about 2us.

But they need the fault delay time (from Vds fault to latch off the MOSFET) to be several ns.

So they use a comparator to measure Vds, and the comparator will output 3.3V when Vds(SENSE to OUT) rises above a threshold.

And then they use a resistor divider to divide 3.3V to about 2.2V to TIMER pin.

Are there any risk of doing this?

If they implement such circuit, do we still need to put capacitor on TIMER pin?
