TPS2388: Sifos test fail on EE; Pass on EVM; why?

Hi team,

My customer got the Mark_lim fail error while doing Sifos test.

They also test TPS2388EVM. The EVM will pass the Sifos test after enable Sifos Test Mode.

What is the register setting of "Enable Sifos Test Mode" on the EVM?

What will cause the Mark_lim fail? Could you kindly provide a solution?

Hi Jamie,

Did the customer use 0x19 to turn on the port? Please ask them to use type 2 turn in IEEE power enable register 0x23. This should solve the sifos failure issue.

The sifos mode enables internal test mode which doesn't need any host control and is easier for customers to do sifos test. Thanks.

Hi Penny,

The customer has turned on the port with the IEEE Power Enable Register(0x23) and using the field T2PON4-T2PON1 but still sifos failure(Mark_lim).

Is there anything can cause the sifos test failure?

In addition to the IEEE Power Enable Register, what register should be used or what procedure should be focused on?
