Hello,
I am working with the TPS65562 and have designed a circuit based on the app-notes slva240 and slvu125a, which is for a similar TI part, the TPS65552. The IGBT to initiate the flash ionization, the SSM25G45EM, is not easily available, so I selected an alternate part that was available through Digikey, the TIG030TS. The circuit successfully works for 2 to 10 flashes with the TIG030TS, but after that the TIG030TS Gate-Emitter breaks down. The TIG030TS and the SSM25G45EM seem to be close cousins and should be interchangeable.
In addition, page 1 of the TPS65562 Figure 1 references diodes, resistors, and capacitors below the flash bulb that aren't used in the slva240 and slvu125a schematics. The question: Does the circuit board laid out in slvu125a have similar problems as what I am describing? Is there any errata associated with the schematic outlined in slva240 or slvu125a concerning the IGBT? Any guidance would be appreciated.
Thank you for your time, Austin McElroy
