BQ27426: Condition of I2C command

Part Number: BQ27426

Dear Sir,

Could you please confirm below ①② about the "TRM SLUUBB0?December 2015 Page16 3.3 I 2 C Command Waiting Time"?

①Regarding in the description

"For read-write standard command, a minimum of 2 seconds is required to get the result updated. For read-only standard commands,
there is no waiting time required, but the host must not issue any standard command more than two times per second. ",

which commands are specifically "read-write standard command" and "read-only standard commands"?

②We execute StandardCommand two times per second (reading SOC and TEMP once each).

Is there a problem against the description "the host should not issue standard commands more than once per second"?

Best Regards,
Chiaki Endo

  • Hello Chiaki,

    1. Standard data commands are located in Section 5 of the TRM.

    2. These registers only update once a second, so the TRM just provides a rule of thumb. It is related to the more common example of reading SOC no more than twice a second.
