UCC28070: AC LINE INPUT

Part Number: UCC28070

QUESTION:  CAN THE AC LINE INPUT BE 3-PHASE INSTEAD OF SINGLE PHASE?  I HAVE A THREE PHASE ALTERNATOR THAT IS THREE-PHASE.

QUESTION:  WHAT IS THE MAXIMUM FREQUENCY THAT THE LINE VOLTAGE INPUT CAN BE WITHOUT DESTROYING THE UCC28070.

THANK YOU

ED

  • Hi Eddie,

The UCC28070 is designed for single phase applications only.

The UCC28070 will not be damaged by higher line frequency operation. One risk is that the AC line crossing is sensitive to the dv/dt of the signal and that at higher frequencies the VFF signal may not be updated correctly. Again the UCC28070 was designed for single phase applications and it would have been tested with Ac line frequencies in the range of 47Hz to 66Hz.

    Regards

    Peter
