Hello,

I need to design a Flyback converter with the following characteristics:

Could you recommend the driver that best suits my needs?

Thanks.

  • Ivan

PMP40555 is an example reference design that is very close to your specification that meets your efficiency requirement.  It uses LM5155 as the primary flyback controller.

    Best Regards,

    Eric

  • Hello Eric,

The PMP40555 is almost closed to my specifications. The maximum input voltage of the PMP40555 is 60 volts. I need a maximum input voltage of 71 volts. 50x 1.414 = 71V.
Do you know any driver that contains a higher input voltage range?
In the design of the PMP40555, how is it possible to reach 60V input voltage? on the data sheet of the LM51551 specify a maximum voltage of 50 volts in "BIAS".
Could I put a resistor on the input of "BIAS" to decrease the tension?

  • hi Ivan,

if add a circuit, such as zener, to limit the voltage of the bias pin below 50V, then I think the reference design can be up to 71V

  • Hi Ivan,

I closed the post assuming you had solve the issue. if not, just reply below
