When we are using BQ25619, when the cut-off current is 170mA, the STAT pin keeps switching between high and low levels, resulting in LED flash. Is there any fault?

Our setting parameters are as follows:

Charging current :510mA

Cut-off current :170mA 4.0v

  • Why is it that when I set the termination current to 170mA, the STAT pin does not become a high level when the end of charging reaches the 170mA or so I set, but keeps switching between high and low states

  • Hi Clark,

If your connection from BAT to battery has high resistance, R, such that the termination current, ITERM, creates a resistive drop equal to the recharge threshold, VRCH, in other words, R*ITERM=VRCH, the charger will cycle in and out of charging.
