Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS2595,
I am going to use eFuse for protection.
My circuit requires 12V and 2A power source.
I am checking TPS2596(2A eFuse) and TPS2595(4A eFuse).
Which device is better for my application?

Hi Kim,
What is you maximum Load current ?
If you maximum load current is less than 1.8A you can go with TPS2596. In case you max load current is greater than 1.8A, please consider using TPS2595.
Do you have a specific package requirement ?
Hello GD,
Maximum load current will be a little bigger than 1.8A.
For package requirement, there is no mandatory requirement but I prefer lead type like SOIC
Hi Kim,
With the maximum load current setting for TPS2596 (RILM = 453 ohms), the current limit setting typical value will be 2.004A. The minimum value of current limit for this setting can be 1.83A as highlighted below.
So,You can use TPS2596 if your maximum load current is less than 1.83 A when you set the current limit to 2.004A typical (RILM = 453 ohms).
Also, TPS2596 package is SOIC as you require.
