TPS25924: Question about TPS259240 over current limit accuracy

We have some questions about TPS259240

As mentioned on page 10 of the tps25924x specification, over current limit accuracy will be 30% when we set it at 1A.

So does it mean that the overcurrent protection will be 0.7A to 1.3A when we set 1A?

This range seems too large.

Please help us confirm this.

Hi Jason,

Yes. your understanding is correct. The current limit accuracy at 1A setting is 30% for TPS25924.

In case you want better accuracy device, please have a look at TPS2596 and TPS2595 which have better current limit accuracy at lower currents.

We are wondering that is there any eFuse that can be pin-to-pin with TPS259240 and the over current accuracy is within 10% when it is set to 1A?

Hi Jason,

Unfortunately, we do not have pin to pin IC's with TPS25924 with better current limit accuracy at low currents.

As the trend is towards developing new IC's in smallest size possible with maxmum features, it is not possible to have pin to pin IC's for old generation. TPS2596 and TPS2595 are our latest devices.
