BQ25619: One more question

Part Number: BQ25619

Dear all:

Besides,I try to figure out whtether the BATFET(Q4) is on when BQ2519 working on ship mode? Beacause I need PMID output voltage (no matter the battery voltage or 5V) to wake up my MCU, so that I can                   know whether the earbuds inside or not. However, in the Block Diagram, i can not see the diode from battery to sys pin. If not, can i series a diode from battery to PMID

            Best Regards,

            Zhibin.YE

  • Hey Zhibin,

The BATFET is not on while the charger is in ship mode.

However, if you need the voltage on PMID, then do not put the charger in ship mode, and you will not require the diode from the battery to PMID.

    Regards,

  • Hey Joel.

Because my client needs a low quisecent battery current., so i have to let BQ25619 working on the ship mode.

If I do not put the charger in ship mode, how much the quisecent battery current?

Besides, is there any risk if I put the diode from the battery to PMID?

  • Hello,

There should not be any risks associated with putting a diode between BAT and PMID.

However, just keep in mind that we do not characterize or validate the charger in this configuration, or any unforseen or undesired behavior will not be accounted for.

When the charger is not in SHIP mode, the quiescent current is the following spec: IQ_BAT in the datasheet EC table.

    Regards,
