My customer is considering the broadcast mode using BQ40Z50-R1 and BQ24725A without HOST controller.

Question1

Can the gauge IC control directly charger IC by setting [CHGM], [AM], [HPE], [CPE], [BCAST] ?

Should they set any other registers?

Question2

This configuration is not needed Host controller, right?

For Question 1

No other registers needed to configure to enable broadcast to charger

For Question 2

Host Controller typically could be an MCU, need to verify if conflict arbitration function is available in the MCU I2C engine to avoid the possible conflict when MCU and Gauge are both trying to take the control of I2C
