BQ20Z45-R1: PF Status

Part Number: BQ20Z45-R1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ20Z45

I have a question about PF Status for bq20z45-R1.

"This function is disabled if SOT1 Chg Time is set to 0." in bq20z45 Technical Reference.

But when I am set to 0, PF Status is set.

I attached EVSW capture and df settig data. .

Which function is correct ?

  • Hello Kagawa-san,

Please allow us some time to look into this and we'll respond later this week.

  • Hello Kang-san,

    How about this ?

  • Yoshinobu,

Something seems a miss here. From the images i see all the cell voltages are approx. 1.1V. This is causing an SUV PF and i also see a AFE_C PF. Which is a communication error with the internal AFE.

I suspect there is a hardware issue causing measurement error or the very low voltage on the cell is causing the gauge to brownout again resulting is an incorrect temperature reading.

Lastly you also have a lot of RSVD bits set to 1 in PF Status 2 which tells me that you are not using the correct software to read the registers. Please delete your EVSW installation and re-install the correct EVSW for your version of the bq20z45-R1. When you run EVSW it shouls autodetect.

If it does auto detect please read the registers manaully via I2C to make sure EVSW is reporting them correctly.
