TPS62420: Providing the best solution

Hello experts,

My customer is considering DCDC converter having two outputs.

Input: 3.0V

Output: 2.0V, 500mA / 1.8V, 500mA

In addition, customer wants enable these output about a few minutes per day at the same time. Customer wants long life design.

Two channels IC is not must, is desirable.

I selected TPS62420, but there are few options in two channel DCDC converter.

Could you give me the best solutions regardless of the channel of outputs?

Hi Hideki-san,

We apologize for the late answer due to the holiday period.

It is difficult to advise for the best solution without knowing more about the requirements of the application (efficiency, solution size, transient performance, etc.)

The dual-channel TPS62420 would definitely work.

2pc TPS62821, for example, would provide better efficiency, better load transient performance, and enable the use of much smaller (470nH) inductors.

If 2pcs solution, how about TPS62840 for long life design?

Sure, 2X TPS62840 with ultra low Iq would enable long battery lifetime.
