BQ79606A-Q1: OV protection for VBAT

Hello,

Does VBAT have overvoltage protection? The datasheet says "AVAO_REF (Analog Voltage Always On) is a fully internal rail that runs from the BAT input." Checking the electrical characteristics, the OV threshold is typically 2.85V but VBAT can be until 30V. Can you please advise what the OV is for VBAT?

    Hello User,

    BAT doesn't have internal OV protection.Its max rating is 36V.

    The following LDOs after BAT have OV/UV detection.

    If you observed transient which is greater than 36V, you should add external TVS to protect it.

    Check schematic of its EVM, there is a diode recommended.
