[TPS65950] starton_xxx in CFG_Px_TRANSITION

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS65950

Q1.

If all the bits (starton_xxx) in CFG_Px_TRANSITION are all set to '0', is there any way other than removing BKBAT to swtich on TPS65950 after VBAT is removed(enter backup mode) and  then inserted?

Q2.

In TRM, power-on reset can be achieved as below,

"Power-on reset:   .............. when the main battery is removed within 8 seconds after PWRON is pressed more than 8 seconds and released......................"

Is it workable @ waiton mode?  Or it is only working @ active mode?

Thanks,

Antony

  • Hi Antony,

    1. You are masking all start-up related events. Why?

You are right. Only after removing BKBAT and VBAT will the registers be reset to default value and then device will power up.

    2. In wait-on mode if you press power on then the device will power up. So, you are now in active state. For TPS65950, you will have to enable this stopping event (STOPON_PWRON) which can be done only in active mode. Does this help?
