LM2576: LM2576 small current behaviour

Hello everybody,

When LM2576's output is about 6mA, LM2576's input current is about 10 mA. Is this normal ? On datasheet, quiescent current is between 5-10 mA. Is this mean Input current = Quiescent current + input current ? I've expected LM2576's input current is about 2 3 mA.

Hi,

Yes, actual input current = quiescent current + your calculated input current.

Thank you sir,

According to this regulator I can not falling to under 5mA on Regular's input. But when my circuit is on sleep mod, I want to see about 1 mA on regulator 's input because my digital circuits(Including microprocessors etc..) has 3 4 mA sleep current. Could you suggest any product for this problem?

Hi,

So you mean now you have a 2-3mA load, and you want get a converter which offers this output meanwhile only has a 1mA or less input current, right? What's your input (max, min) and output voltage?

Yes sir,

My input voltage is between 8-32 volt and output voltage is 5 volt.

Hi,

You can use a 36V part like LMR33630 if the max value 32V is very stable. Or consider a 60V part like LMR16030 for more margin. Thanks.
