TPS23861: Auto mode power budget

Hi,

My customer is looking for information on below points.

We are planning to consider TPS23861 PSE manager in design. The TPS23861 will be used in Auto mode.

There are couple of queries on this configuration considering power budget.

  1. Is there any power budget feature available in auto mode?
  2. Can we consider EEPROM to do this? We don’t want any firmware(no MCU) in system

    Hi Akshat,

    If the total power budget can't supply all ports with full load, you have to have some kind of host (CPU or MCU as long as it has I2C bus) to do the port power management to ensure the total power consumption doesn't exceed the power supply's budget. Thanks.
