BQ25887: Using with 2 Pack in series

Hello,

I would like use the BQ25887 to charge two li-Po battery pack in series.

Each cell has got a protection circuit in low side configuration. The balancing circuit is designed for this ?

Sebastien,

The 2S2P configuration (1S2P + 1S2P) you mentioned will work with the cell balancing circuitry in the BQ25887. However the cell balancing will take twice as long as a comparable 2S1P setup. This may or may not be okay for your application depending on the use case and the cell capacity. Notice that the maximum recommended cell balancing current is 400 mA.

Ricardo,

This is my battery configuration.

The batteries are separated in the system. Do the protection circuit module (PCM) are a problem or not ?
