BQ76PL455A: Common mode chokes in Reference design of bq76pl455a

Part Number: BQ76PL455A

I have designed my BMS with the reference design of the IC. The FAULTH+ and FAUTL- pins are connected with the common mode chokes. Are these just for filtering?

If I connect it with other bms with the same design then both the grounds will be shorted. I am using 8 BMS' for a battery pack with 128 cells. So ground of all the BMS' are different. So shorting both the ground will cause trouble.

Do I need isolation between BMS" for daisy chain communication? Or is that taken care of inside the ic?3365.Passive_BMS_E1.pdf
