BQ27426: program Chem ID

HI team,

I see in our datasheet, BQ27426 could only get three pre-defined chemistry profiles, cannot be programmed with specific chem ID. However, in BQ studio, I could program BQ27426 with a chem ID, does this make sense? Could you give some comments to this?

Hi Will,

Yes, it is possible. However, we don't recommend doing that since BQ27426 is a ROM gauge.

Hi Andy,

Could you help me understand why it's not recommend for ROM gauge? I see BQ27426 get a OTP option, could we use OPT to program the golden image file into it?

Hi Will,

As I mentioned above, this device is defined as a ROM gauge and there is basically no OPT option for the Chem ID.

The ChemID is only loaded into the data memory in RAM if you select a ChemID in bqSudio. Its contents are lost after a power cycle or reset.
