TPS2492: UVLO glitch range

Part Number: TPS2492

Hello,

In ticket https://e2e.ti.com/support/power-management/f/196/p/836278/3092463?tisearch=e2e-sitesearch&keymatch=TPS2492%20UVLO#3092463 it is recommended that "the UVLO threshold should be selected much lower than the operating Vin voltage", however how much lower is not specified. We are currently testing a system that operates at 24V with a 20.8V UVLO, is this sufficient headroom to avoid the issue described in the linked ticket? We can potentially lower this limit to 12V but would prefer to keep it at least above 17V.

Thanks

  • Hi,

    Welcome to E2E!

I see 24V as your typical operating voltage. What is the minimum operating voltage ? Set UVLO threshold at 20% lower than your minimum operating voltage to get sufficient headroom to avoid that issue.

For example, if 22V is your minimum operating voltage then choose UVLO threshold as 22V*0.8 = 17.6 V

    Best Regards, Rakesh
