BQ27220EVM-744: Unable to get correct battery state reading from the gauge

Part Number: BQ27220EVM-744
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ27220, BQSTUDIO

Hi,

I followed the procedure mentioned in the previous reply. But ht Gauge is giving incorrect readings of remaining capacity.

I am not sure if I am calculating EDV0/1/2 correctly.

I have 3 of the below cells in parallel to give a total pack capacity of 10500mAHr.

Below is each cell capacity:

It has a discharge curve as below:

LG%2018650%20MJ1%203500mAh%20(Green)-Capacity

I am looking at the curve for A:2.0A. Since I need a C/5 reading.

Below are the values I used for starting the learning cycle:

Configured in Data Memory / Gas Gauging:

* Full Charge Capacity (set it to Design Capacity) 10500mAHr
* Design Capacity 10500mAHr
* Design Voltage 3635mV
* Charge Termination Voltage 4200mV
* EDV0(0% SOC) 3190mAHr 2800mV --this is the voltage that shows 0 charge in pack
* EDV1(3% SOC) 97% of 3190 = 3094mAHr 3000mV
* EDV2(7% SOC) 93% of 3190 = 2966mAHr 3200mV

And in Data Memory / Charge Termination:
* Taper Current. I used the default value not sure How do i calculate it.

Are these values correct?

There is one doubt: To update Full Charge Capacity

I navigated to Data Memory--> ENTER_CFG_UPDATE--> Edited Full Charge Capacity --> EXIT_CFG_UPDATE.

But when I go back to register view it does not show updated value. Even after a refresh. Am I missing something?

And I do not require a compensation feature. Do I need to log something in the Battery studio? Or after full discharge, I can just extract the golden image and use it to reconfigure the Gauge after a power cycle?
