UCC28180: Question regarding loop gain and "one cycle" control method for this chip -

Part Number: UCC28180

  1. Does the internal control circuit have the 1/Vin squared factor to keep loop gain constant as Vin range changes?
  2. Does the internal control function use the “One Cycle” (or similar) control method that some other Infineon / IR pfc controllers do?  (such as IR1155).  These controllers do not use Vin sensing, same as the UCC28180 does not need Vin sensing.

  • Hi Lauren:

at high line and low line you should have different loop gain. You can reach to the UCC28180 excel calculator on the TI website and see the loop gain.

the controlled should do not need Vinac sampling. It should be much the same as ICE2PCSO1 from Infineon.
