Why Full Charge Capacity (FCC) changed during charge ?

Dear TI expert:

Our Pack(IC used BQ40Z50R1) Full Charge Capacity (FCC) changed  during charge, first FCC value is 4274mAh,end of charging(Standard charge current is 2500mA),when charge current turn 0 from 169mA,the Full Charge Capacity (FCC) value have changed to 1822mAh,and it can not recover.

Please help to see what  the problem is?

Tks!

  • Hello Jerry,

We normally ask for a gg file. What is happening here is that we are detecting VCT as the Chg Voltage of 12600 mV is approached. This is normal and after a few more cycles you should not see this behavior once the impedance and qmax updates.

However, make sure the current log is continuous. The log file you posted has large portions of data missing.

Refer to the TRM for more questions on VCT. Just search for VCT.
