I have abttery power system that inculdes circuit with BQ27425-G2A and BQ24072RGTR similar to the AFE4403EVM. as it seems the charger and the fuel gauge sometimes get damaged when connecting the USB cable. we would like to add a protection circuit, similar to the below circuit, and we would appreciate your opinions\suggestions.

I would also like to get advice regrading the valuie of resistor between the GND and USB connector.

For the currents mentioned in the previous thread, will the PTC even protect against those fast transients?

Why can't you switch to the bq27426?

I aware of that, i am trying to add another protection.

and for now I have a PCB with BQ27425-G2A

I don't have the current probe anymore. For now it looks ok. I will update if the problem resolved.

BTW, Does TI have an ICs combine fuel gauge and battery charger?
