The below questionsa re valid for TPS65950/30/20 devices.
Q:- Why TRITON_RESET is mentioned in WARM RESET chapter? What is effect of adding TRITON_RESET in WARM RESET sequence? Refer table 5-3 , "TRITON_RESET was firstly off and on in the end, is it a must to configure "TRITON_RESET" in warm reset sequence"
Ans:-
1.Warm reset is useful for defining user defined active state.
2.Trition reset is not necessary but normally some users may require warm reset for reseting the digital[register banks] without having power resources(LDOs,SMPS ) off.
That's why Triton reset is added to Warm reset sequence to make digital reset in first step and come out of reset in last step.
Q: The warm reset sequence when NRESWARM is triggered is configurable in TPS65950, but what is the default sequence? Is it the one in "table 5-3. Sample of Warm Reset Sequence" within TPS65950 TRM?
A: There is no default sequence programmed. User needs to program as required. The one in table 5-3 is an example. You can have that as your sequence.
Q: If there's some power resource is not mentioned in the warm reset sequence, does it mean it will remain as its original mode during the entire warm reset proess?
A: Yes.
Q: In TRM it's mentioned tat " When ENABLE_WARMRESET bit of the Px_SW_EVENTS (x = 1, 2, 3)is set to 0, there is no effect of warm reset on the resources assigned to that device group." My question is, if you set P2_ENABLE_WARMRESET to 0, and also change the state of some specific LDO assigned to P2 only in my self-defined warm reset sequence, will the state of the LDO changed according to my warm reset sequence?
A: No, you set ENABLE_WARMRESET to '0', so the effect will not be seen.
Q: In TRM it's mentioned, "When the requested state of the resource is WARMRESET, the output voltage of that resource (LDOs and SMPS supplies) is set to its default reset value, ............." does it mean (for exmaple) VSIM will be 1.8V since VSEL=0x3 at reset value?
A: Yes.
Q: What's the relation between TRITON_RESET and "Table5.4 Register Bits That Reset to Default Values During Warm Reset"? Is there any direct relation between them?
A: Not everything is reset when TRITON_RESET is issued. The table lists the registers which are reset and user should re-program these registers if needed.
