Managing Boost converter startup current

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS43060, LM5121, LM5060

Hello everyone,

I am designing a Boost converter using TPS43060, although the controller is not relevant to my question. For generality, I have to assume that the load is always connected. I can manage how much current flows through the switch using the soft start feature; but the startup current that flows prior to the switching is simply a function of the Boost inductance, output capacitance, and the load (+ diode drop etc.).

I need a device that would limit the input current to 10-20 Amperes and allow that much current to flow continuously (assuming that I can sink the heat). Is there a monolithic device or a family of devices that can fit this application?

Thank you.
