BQ25895: Configure no Non-Standard Adapter 12V 2A

Part Number: BQ25895

Hi all,

I want configure a BQ25895 to connect VBUS to 12V/2A (generic adapter 230VAC).

About hardware, I have a shunt (0Ohm resistor) between D+/D- pins.

About I2C registers, I configured the REG00 to 00100110 (Input current limit configured by register, no ILIM Pin) and REG02 to 01111100

This is correct? Because when input current is greater than 1.55A, the charger turn on and turn off repeatedly.

Thank you,

Best regards,

  • Hi Ricardo,

The register settings look reasonable.  From the register settings, it appears that you set the relative VINDPM threshold to 2.8V, which means VINDPM=12V-2.8V = 9.2V.  If your connection from power source to VBUS is highly resistive, you could be pulling the input voltage down and hitting VINDPM but I would not expect the charger to turn on and off repeatedly.  Can you turn on the ADC and provide all the registers values?

    Regards,

    Jeff
