please can you tell me how much charge and discharge current can the BQ40Z80 support and can one use it without need of cell balancing functionality ?

The max charge and discharge current depend on the sense resistor used. The max voltage drop across the sense resistor is 0.1V and so the max charge and discharge current is 0.1/Rsense.

In addition, the cell balancing feature can be enabled or disabled according to your needs.
