TPSM53603: Is this power module compliant with CISPR25 ?

Part Number: TPSM53603

Hi,

Is TPSM53603 power module compliant with CISPR25 ?

By applying design criteria Vmin_in = 9v, Vmax_in=36v, Vout = 5v, CISPR25 CLASS 5, Iout=1.6A the electronic work bench gave us TPSM53603 as an option.

However data sheet indicates only CISPR11.

Please confirm compliance with CISPR25 CLASS 5 and supply with the test result.

We are considering this module in our future design.

  • Hi Vikhyat,

The TPSM53603 is a commercial catalog power module that is currently compliant with CISPR11 specs. The radiated EMI data for both horizontal and vertical scans can be seen in Section 10.5 of the datasheet.

As it is, I suspect it will not pass CISPR25 since those specs are more stringent than CISPR11. However I'd like to point out that additional input circuitry can be used to attenuate the noise, but this would need to be tested and verified.

I've attached an app note for reference

In short, the TPSM53603 will most likely not pass CISPR25, but additional circuitry can be implemented to help attenuate radiated EMI to possibly get it to work in automotive applications.

    Regards,

    Jimmy
