BQ25619: watchdog time expired reset and Hiz mode

Part Number: BQ25619

Hi team,

I see in datasheet that with watchdog time expired, all the resister are in default settings. Does REG00 "Input Current Limit" register follow this? I find after watchdog timer expired, the input 4-0 bit still keeps the same with before. and all other register goes back to default. Could you help check about this?

Another question is about the Hiz mode, what does the charger do in Hiz mode? And what application need the charger goes into Hiz mode?

Thanks and Best Regards,

Will

  • Hey Will,

For the watchdog question, that is correct. The Input Current Limit setting is not impacted by the watchdog expiration.

For the HIZ mode question, some customers have a low input Iq requirement for their charging systems or portable devices. There is a USB Suspend case which as a requirement for low current draw from the input source as well as a power bank application case where the input source is supplied from a battery. In HIZ mode, teh converter is disabled to a low power state.

    Regards,
