BQ35100: SOH for LiSOCl2 custom battery

Part Number: BQ35100

Hello,

I am planning to use BQ35100 for a custom battery made from China with LiSOCl2 chemistry and OC voltage as 3.6 V. Its mentioned BQ35100 can support EOS for LiSOCl2. Can it also provide SOH. I dont want to use the accumulator mode to know the "battery percentage". What is the procedure to do so?

Regards,

Prudhvi Sagar

  • Prudhvi,

In EOS mode the gauge does report out a SOH value. However this is not the main purpose of this mode. SOH while in EOS mode is an impedance correlation with the programmed chemID. Since the impedance of these types of cells are very linear for the beginning of its life so near full is not very accurate. as the battery discharges i expect the accuracy to get better.

The main purpose of this gauge is to set an EOS flag letting you know this battery doesn't have much life left.

    Thanks,
