BQ29700EVM-610: Just want customer support, not a forum post

Part Number: BQ29700EVM-610

First of all, TI's support system / forum system is just horrible. I just want to ask a question, not send a post or read them. Called support and India answered. Anyway:

I have a battery with these specs: charging cutoff voltage: 4.35 V, discharge cutoff voltage: 2.5 V.

It is our intention to utilize this range to the maximum extent possible. To that end, what are the tolerances for OVP and UVP listed in the BQ297xx datasheet page 3?

It appears that in order to fit our requirements as closely as possible, a non-standard part is needed as shown by the BQ297xy part number in the table on page 3. What is the lead time for such a request? We will only need a small quantity (<100 probably)

For the BQ29700EVM-610 eval kit:

1.) Is it possible to order with a component other than the BQ20700, either a standard part (such as BQ29732) or the aforementioned BQ297xy? If so, what would the lead time be?

Thank you

  • Hi Corey,

It should be possible to create a new part number with the specs you need - it is within the configurable ranges for the device. The tolerances for OVP and UVP are defined in Table 7.6 of the datasheet.

I have contacted someone to respond with information about lead time. However, is 100 units the total quantity you will need or is this the quantity just to get started? Our marketing team would require a strong business case to set up the manufacture of a new part number.

The EVM is only available with the BQ20700. You would need to change the IC on the EVM to evaluate other part numbers.

    Best regards,

    Matt

  • Hi Corey,

We've reached out to the sales team and someone should be contacting you. Let me know if you do not hear from them.

    Best regards,

    Matt
