TPS55330: TPS55330 maximum current output calculation

Hi gents,

I'm using the TPS55330 on my design to generate 15V from a 3 to 4.2V input.

Is there a way to calculate the maximum output current that my design can provide? on the datasheet § 8.2.2.5 Computing the Maximum Output Current, can I use this formula? if yes I do know the value of ηEST.

Hi Bruno,

in the product folder of this device, you can download the spreadsheet tool TPS55340. you can use the tool to calculate the maximum IOUT. The efficiency can be set to 0.8 when calculate the maximum IOUT

For this input/output condition, the TPS61178 should be better solution than TPS55330
