Other Parts Discussed in Thread: EV2400,
Hi,
After a pack assembly, why some of packs no need to wake-up by temporarily connect B+ to P+, they can be in run mode directly, but others not?
Please explain.
Thanks,
Joy

Hi Andy,
I mean after bq device powered, EV2400 can communicate with the bq device directly, no need to initiate it.
If the circuit boards was programmed and calibrated, after it is re-powered later, CHG and DSG FETs can be on as programmed, and EV2400 can communicate with it directly.
Thanks,
Joy
Hi Andy,
Please see the attachment. This is not just for this bq40z50, actually, this is happening in all bq devices which I used, this is a general question.PRG_BQ40Z50.gg.csv

Hi Kang,
The reason why I asked the question, is because the same bq, with the same .srec file programmed, some packs need to be waked up after assembly, others not. Then my customer think the packs which need to be waked up are wrong.
Actually, it is not only bq40z50, before bq20z75, bq20z95 all are same.
Please advice why this difference happening?
Thanks,
Joy
Hello Joy,
It depends on the cell voltage. It could be that the gauge is entering shutdown mode after programming. The best way to check for operation of successful programming is to monitor the TS pin and make sure that Voltage, current, and temperature readings are accurate.
Hi Kang,
All these boards were programmed successful, and passed all calibration and function test. We shipped the circuit boards to our customer, and after the customer assembly the boards with battery cells, some packs were not needed to be waked up, others were needed. The packs which needed to be waked up, are working properly after waked up. All attached cell battery voltage were above CUV threshold a lot.
Could you please advise why some packs go to shutdown, others not?
Thanks,
Joy
