WEBENCH® Tools/LMR16030: Not working above 16.5V input supply.

Part Number: LMR16030

Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

I have used LMR16030 for the power supply for my GPS/GSM device. I used all the components with the same values which are suggested in the WEBENCH design tool and simulation. But in real PCB, the power supply is not working above 16.5V. My device takes 9 to 36V as input supply from a DC source and it is giving 4.2V at the output.

  • Hello Animesh,

Please share the waveform of VIN, VOUT, SW and Inductor Current when the part was is working fine (i.e. below 16.5 V) and when part is not working fine (i.e. after 16.5V). Are you using TI EVM or custom EVM? If you are using custom EVM, then can you please share your schematic and layout both. And can you please try your experiment on TI EVM as well.

Sorry for asking so many questions, but it will greatly help in debugging the issue. Thanks!
