BQ27Z561: Store multiple battery profiles on one IC

Hi Team,

My customer is exploring the possibility to have two kinds of batteries with different capacity, which means their gauge will need to have two battery profiles. Is it possible to save both battery profiles to the BQ27z561 fuel gauge and the fuel gauge will load the corresponding battery profile based on battery ID?

    Hello Mitchell,

    Unfortunately, no, this is only a feature on system side legacy devices. It is better to store the same battery profile per battery because swapping between two will cause RSOC initialization issues and Ra table swaps.

    The best recommendation would be to use the bq27z561 in a pack side application and have the chemID be matched to the cell itself.
