BQ76925: RBAT selection

Part Number: BQ76925

Is it fine if I go with RBAT less than 100 ohms (let's say 10 ohms)? I'm worried about the power dissipation associated with that resistor.

  • Hi JP,

If you are using your own switching regulator to provide most of your low voltage load, the current in RBAT supplies only the BQ76925 and is small. But in general yes, you can use a smaller RBAT.  To keep the filter effective you may need a larger capacitor CBAT, and if the larger capacitor has higher impedance you may want a small cap in parallel.
