Could you please help me out why 2.4A input current limit setting at PSEL=Low state. Are there any application reason behind this, even we understand 500mA limit at PSEL=Low is came from USB2.0 power up from dead battery.

The 2.4A current limit is to support a typical maximum adapter types, such as the Samsung adapters.
For adapters below this current limit, the charger will still utilize the VINDPM feature to regulate input power.
