I am designing a board with TPS61022 and I would like to have your feedback on the layout, below:

I measured also the ringing on the SW pin in the prototypes. Below the measurement...

Thank you for using our device!

Seems like your probe ground is far from your SW pin. Please try to reduce the GND connection length and remeasure.

Hi Alessandro,

The method with small GND loop should be OK. The switching node spike maximum value is 4.15V, less than TPS61022 ABS max spec.

Have you met any issue with TPS61022?

Hello Zack,

the maximum rating on the positive rail is fine, but I'm not sure also the negative rail is fine.

In my measurement I got around -440mV, but the abs max rating in the datasheet is less (even if not far away)...

At the moment I'm testing only 5 boards (prototypes), but I want to be sure that in production this will not cause any issues...

Hi Alessandro,

For the -440mV negative rail, you don't need to be worried about it. The abs max rating in the datasheet is for DC value.

I see your layout follow the datahsheet's recommendation. It should be ok.
