TPS73601-EP: TPS73601MDCQREP - Transient response for the LDO

Part Number: TPS73601-EP

Hi,

For the device TPS73601MDCQREP, the load transient response is mentioned in figure 30 for the out put voltage of 2.5V.

In the application I am using the ADJ LDO for the outputs 3.3V and 1.8V.

I would like to know the load transient response for the same with CFB as 10nF.

Thanks and Regards,

Subramaniam

  • Hi Subramaniam,

In addition to Figure 30, please also see Figure 22 for load transients data on 3.3V output and you should see similar load transient response for the ADJ part. The difference between fixed and adjustable versions is only on where the resistor divider being placed: fixed has internal resistor divider and adjustable has the divider externally. For your case, you have a 10nF CFB, this can improve the PSRR and noise which can convert to slightly faster loop response during load transients. I have checked available data for this device, unfortunately, we don't have any additional load transients data except for the ones listed in the datasheet.

Load transients results rely heavily on the combinations of the parasitic capacitance and capacitors used on the test board, and how the load is applied. You may use datasheet load transients curves as a reference and get an idea of how fast the loop response is. Due to the nature that each application may use a different output, and we normally only provide data on either the popular rails or the max or the min output options and most of the time, we also only provide data with a common configuration. If your application has a strict requirement on the load transients performance, I would strongly suggest you run this test in your system instead of using the typical values listed in the datasheet.
