Wide range dc/dc converter design

I want to design a DC/DC converter that can work with a wide input range (50V to 90V) for output of 100V. To design a 40kW boost converter with said voltage ranges I required inductor in microhenry but 400A current capability. Is it feasible to design such a converter? If no than what would be the solution?

Thanks for your question. For high powered converters, I recommend you take a look at this reference design to get started.

It may not suit your current power requirements, but a dual active bridge (DAB) converter will be a step in the right direction.

For EV drives, does it necessary to put buck-boost converter between dc link and battery?

Hi Utsav,

I would need you to clarify your question. Normally in a dc-dc converter you have the input and output capacitors which filter out the high frequency components. If your system requires a buck-boost converter to generate a rail, then it should be necessary. I would advise you to look through this page for reference:
