BQ34Z100-G1: Pb Temp Comp for Lead Acid

Hello,

I am optimizing a design for a lead acid battery using the BQ34Z100-G1 component.

I have a few questions.

1) What should I set the value for "Pb Tem Comp" and what effect does it have? I found misleading information in the SLUSBZ5B specification.

in the Data Flash Summary table 11, it indicates a very small value in percentage. The default is shown to be 0.01953125 % ??

However, in the section 8.2.3.1 Battery Chemistry Charge Termination , Table 25 it indicates the number should be 25%.

2) Likewise, can you tell me what value I should use for Pb Reduction Rate and what effect does that have?

I see the deafult values in the bqStudio and they can match Table 25 of its datasheet.

Pb Temp Comp = 24.960 %
Pb Reduction Rate = 10.000 %

What you saw in the table 11 should be some typos.

Thanks. I assumed that Table II was probably correct. Can you answer the second part of my question?

What effect do these parameters have? In other words, if I use a different value what will happen?

Here is what I have found so far.

These two parameters are related to the charge efficiency.

See Section 3.2.16 of BQ34z100-G1 TRM.

PB Temp Comp = Charge Eff Temperature Compensation
Pb Reduction Rate = Charge Eff Reduction Rate
