BQ27542-G1: Golden image generation issue

Hi team ,

We have done with learning cycle and moving forward to create golden image.

While creating golden image we are getting one error and attaching the snapshot .

Please let me know what to do and How ?

Please consider this is an urgent !!

  • Disable Auto Export in the Data Memory Window and try gain.

  • The easiest way is to close the Data Memory Window.

  • Hi Team,

    We ran the ChemID process on one more Setup and we were getting the ChemID 2076 with deviation is 5%.

    We are running the learning cycle again with this chemID.

    On the first discharge cycle, our RUP_DIS bit is high and the Vok bit is low which is not expected?

    Do we need to start the Discharge cycle and once gauge has the OCV reading then automatic transition happens for RUP_DIS and Vok?

    Can you please suggest ASAP?

  • First of all, a 5% deviation is a bit high. Usually a 3% deviation is acceptable.

    I think we need to double check your chem id. Can you send your log you submitted in the GPCHEM tool and also the report you guys recevied?

    We started with the another learning cycle for the fuel gauge. After Initial Discharge and relax, we are observing that, during the first charging of the battery VOK bit is not getting set and RUP_DIS bit is not cleared in the charging cycle. Please find attached screenshots for this. Please let us know on this anamoly ASAP .

  • Hi Andy,

    I need to add one more point in this charging cycle. When the battery is charging and it reached around 95 % , after sometime suddenly SLEEP bit was set and RUP_DIS bit was cleared, VOK bit is still low. Now it is taking zero current. Does this behaviour expected during the first charging cycle stage of Learning Cycle Process ? PFA screenshot for this. Let me know if you need more information.

    In Learning cycle following bits are not set :

    FC  and VOK bit in charging cycle.

    Update status is not moved further. Its 04 only even after second relax cycle.

    I am attaching auto exported logs and let me know your input on this.

    We will work on your time  and  I am requesting you to discuss over call.

    Please understand the urgency.

    You need to read the TRM.

    Set VCT appropriately within your system based on valid charge termination.

    The learning cycle is the first step.

    TRM has been completely read by Vishal.

    There are lot of confusions and questions.

    This much small response will not help.

    We seek the call where we can set every parameter correctly in front of you so learning cycle may proceed further.

    We set the VCT based on our battery datasheet and voltage is 4200mV.

    Let me know what exactly you want us to share so you can suggest all the parameters?

    Do you want us to share the battery datasheet?

    We need to clear out all the communication gap to resolve the issue.

    1. Following chemid we got :-

    2093 Best chemical ID max. deviation, % : 3.06 (Spec:3050mAh )

    2076 Best chemical ID max. deviation, % : 5.43 (Spec: 8448mAh)

    please recomment, Which one we should use ?

    2.Follwing value we have set
    1.Design voltage -3700mV.
    2. Design capacity-12000mAh.
    3.Deisgn Energy-4440mWh.
    4.Design Energy Scale-10.
    5.Tapper current-400mA.
    6.Charge current threshold-75mA.
    7.Discharge current threshold-60mA.
    8.Quite current-40mA.
    9.Voltage at charge termination-4200mV.
    10.Termination voltage-3100mV.
    11.Charging voltage-4210mV.
    Let me know any single parameter we missed or need to correct.

    3.FC bit is not getting set after full charge.
    4.Vok bit is not getting set at the start of the charge.
    5. Update staus not increasing(moving)0x04 to 0x05
    6.Please let us know when Vok bit will set/clear in entire learning cycle. If VOK not set while charging what is the impact on learning cycle?
    7. Let us know when will RUP_DIS bit be Set and clear in the entire learning cycle?
    8. In previous learning cycle battery voltage reach upto 3964mV even though battery charge termination is 4200mV
