Hi sir,

Good Morning.

I am using LM5116 for 50A, Interleaved Non Isolated DC_DC CONVERTER.

We have used PMP7282 schematic diagram.

At no load condition, dc dc converter is drawing 100mA to 300mA.

So, please suggest us what might be the problem.

Hi Khagesh,

The main loss contributors at light and no load are MOSFET switching loss and inductor core loss. Try enabling diode emulation mode to run at lower Fsw at light load.

Thanks for reply sir,

As per my understanding i have to keep Rdemb is zero ohm for enabling diode emulation.

Please confirm sir.

Yes, tie DEMB to GND (or CSG). Note that PMP7282 has 3 high-side FETs and 3 low-side 80V FETs per phase, so switching losses are high. Depending on the Vin-max spec, you should also consider the LM5143-Q1 two-phase controller with 60V or 80V FETs as needed.
