Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ40Z50, BQSTUDIO, EV2400
Hi
I recently got bq40z50 evauluation module and we tested it to be fine. We ordered and got prototype board assembled based on that design. However none of my prototypes board worked . I was doubtful about the chip placement itself. So i got local shop replace the bq40z50 chip from evaluation board to prototype board. We did got the prototype board work after this. So my doubt about bad pcb assembly job was clear.
So I got the same shop replace the same BQ40z50 chip back to it's original EVM board. Now I do get the board connected to EV2400 and Bqstudio and I can see the registers and even reporgram the chip itself . However the chip is tripping itself and behaving strange. The Bqstudio reports current of 32A even not connected to any load. The charging does not work as it has got safety registers high.
I am thinking some other parts on board itself might have been damaged along the process. Any idea where should I start to test around and what part might be responsible for this behavior.
Thanks
