BQ40Z50-R1: Device not turning on when adapter is plugged

Are you asking a question about  BQ40z50-R2? It seems like your question is more about the the charge controller BQ24725A? Is my undestanding correct?

it may be so, but I don't know whose fault is it: a configuration on the BQ40z50-R2 or a connection error on the BQ24725A side.

from what i see, the BQ40z50-R3 (which is the one i'm using, sorry for the confusion) is to blame. What happens is that when I discharge the battery completely, then I can't get the battery to charge by itself; I always have to order the charger to set a voltage manually.

We did the learning cycle and chemistry id; the gauge works well normally. The only issue we've found is the one I described above. I imagine it's something related to the configuration of the gauge itself, but I can't find the problem.

I tried to attach the configuration file but it gives me an error when posting. Perhaps I can send it directly to you ?

I took a quick look at your gg file. It seems okay to me. 

What are the OperationStatus and GaugingStatus when this issue occurs?

Hi, 

We discovered the issue not always happens, but it involves the gauge not charging altogether. We have the batteries at 81% and the external power supply connected, but the gauge doesn't order the charger to charge. Here is a screen capture of the status of the gauge with the external supply connected and the batteries partially discharged:

I see the OperationStatus[XCHG] is set to 1 and the protection should have been triggered.

Could you share the screenshot of the WHOLE bqStudio screen? I can see one bit of Safety Status is set and I cannot see it clearly.
