BQ25710: VDDA capacitor rating

Part Number: BQ25710

Hi,

We have a 1uF cap connected to VDDA pin.  May I know the voltage rating requirement for this cap?  Can it be 6.3V rating?

Thanks!

Antony

  • Hey Antony,

On our EVM, we recommend using a 25V rated capacitor. You may be able to get away with a lower voltage rated capacitor like 16V or 10V because the VDDA is supplied by REGN, which should never exceed 6.3V (see EC table spec in the D/S).

However, to account for the DC derating effect of ceramic capacitors, it is recommended to use a much higher voltage rating.

    Regards,
